Peter Sandberg

Swedish composer and pianist Peter Sandberg has carved a singular place within the landscape of modern composition, blending neoclassical minimalism with the emotional immediacy of contemporary production. His work bridges the space between the concert hall and the cinematic world, pairing restraint with raw feeling, precision with vulnerability.

Signing to London-based ambient/post-classical label Phases Records in 2018, Peter released his debut album 'Motion' in March 2019. The record featured the single 'Deep' which featured in an emotional and climactic scene of Stranger Things Season 3. He scored commercials for major brands such as Volvo, Tesla and Vox, and rounded out the year with packed-out shows in major cities such as Istanbul and London.

In September 2020, he released his conceptual second LP Återvända to widespread acclaim, featuring singles 'Rise' and collaborative track 'Pinetrees' with British electronic artist and vocalist Henry Green. That same year, Peter also scored a cutting-edge virtual reality animated short film 'Goodbye Mr Octopus', which was nominated for the 77th Venice Film Festival.

In September 2021, he released his third album, Midnattssol, his ode to summer and the Swedish land of the midnight sun. Supported by preceding singles ‘Wait’ and ‘Frihet’, the album was released on 01st October and features appearances from Aquilo, Jake Isaac, Siv Jakobsen and Tom Ashbrook.

His forthcoming album, Temporary Coexistence of Humans, is scheduled for release on May 1, 2026. Returning to the piano as his central instrument, Peter examines the illusion of control - how human lives intersect in fleeting, unpredictable ways, colliding like particles in a vast web of cause and effect. The album’s pieces act as small, vivid observations: moments of connection, compassion, regret, and release. Beneath their minimal surface lies a quiet curiosity about what it means to share time and space with others.

Working from his studio in Uppsala, he continues to blur the boundaries between classical form and contemporary reflection. His music doesn’t seek resolution so much as understanding - inviting listeners to pause within the tension, and to find beauty in the fragile, fleeting coexistence of us all.
