My Precious Bunny
My Precious Bunny is the solo project of Lily Wolter, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and one-half of the beloved dream-pop duo Penelope Isles.
Stepping out on her own, Lily crafts music that feels like a memory: sun-faded, sprawling, and deeply alive. It’s intimate and cinematic all at once: music for late-night heart-to-hearts and long drives to nowhere in particular, every note heavy with nostalgia and motion.
Born and raised on the Isle of Man, a windswept patch of land in the Irish Sea, caught somewhere between myth and mist, Wolter’s music feels inseparable from the landscape that shaped her. At times deeply personal and confessional, at others sweeping and orchestral, her songs move with a sense of purpose, like something shaped by time and tide.
Co-produced with childhood friend Allister Kellaway (Last Living Cannibal), the debut record is both a personal milestone and a shared vision brought to life. The songs shimmer with texture and feeling: warped pop sensibilities, bursts of saxophone (which Lilyplays live), warm analog synths, and restless guitars collide with raw choral power in a sound that feels spontaneous, magnetic, and full of momentum. There’s a sense of community in the way the melodies fold into each other, like old friends catching up, finishing each other’s thoughts mid-sentence
The buzz is already real: with a record deal under her belt and some of Brighton’s best players in the mix, My Precious Bunny is gaining momentum fast.
“Wolter’s songwriting unfolds in elegantly nuanced shades, its bedroom-pop melancholia low-key but lush, judiciously coloured with synthesizers and saxophone. There’s plenty of indie-film drama in these songs: Joys Of Adulthood is awash in Belle & Sebastian relationship dynamics while Blackcurrants recreates a My Bloody Valentine headrush...My Precious Bunny offers plenty to love.” MOJO – 4 Stars ★★★★
“Penelope Isles co-auteur hits solo gold... a sweeping suite of spirit-lifting indie-pop catharsis... a tender, textured album of struggle and recovery.” Record Collector – 4 stars ★★★★
“The music covers an ambitious spectrum of instrumentation... A Moment In My Eyes has a welcome sense of adventure with none of its eleven tracks sounding alike.” Silent Radio
“‘I Go Up, You Go Down’ speaks to lockdown ennui, while also displaying the dreamy melodic finesse that frames her work as My Precious Bunny.“ Clash
“Blackcurrants is the sound of the summer; a bouncing, kinetic uplifting sonic alchemy of lush vocals and electronic indie bliss.” God is in The TV
